Evidence of a Stafford UFO sighting – which was reported to both police and the MoD – was captured on camera by a local couple.
A string of four lights, described as being ?as bright as the sun? rose up over the town at around 11.40pm on Saturday. Coming from the north west, they silently made their way across the skyline before vanishing west.
Alison Price and her partner Bob Parsons first glimpsed a dazzling light from Bob?s front room on Ampleforth Drive.
The pair were so puzzled they raced outside to the back garden, only to witness a further three rise into the sky behind it.
Alison, 56, told the Post she was baffled by what she saw: ?We were watching the telly at Bob?s and we had the curtains open. It was about 11.20 when Bob noticed this light and said he?d seen something odd.
?I got my camera phone and we went outside and that?s when we saw the other lights. They were at about 30 second intervals and rose up and followed each other. They were completely silent and they didn?t have tails like a comet would.?
The Halfords worker, who confessed to having no interest in UFOs, added: ?They were just like balls of fire. It was weird. They were so bright, it was like the sun.?
Alison said the objects moved relatively slowly, giving her time to capture them on her phone. She also reported the sighting to police who passed on the details to the Ministry of Defence.
She added: ?At one point we saw a plane, it could have been heading for Birmingham airport, and it seemed to pass directly between two of the lights. The pilot must have seen them.?
Bob, 60, a sales manager, said: ?I?ve never seen anything like it in all my born days. They were bright, bright lights. There were no flashing lights as you?d get on an airliner. The light from them was really significant and they all seemed to follow the same path.?
